A new rune set is underway in probably my new favorite wood. This one is being made from wood from our little peach tree in the back yard. I've made a pretty cool rune set from split peach pits and now from the actual wood. I'm thankful for that little tree. The sad thing is, I've never eaten any of its peaches - the bugs always get them before we do!
It's a very hard wood with a super tight grain. I dampened one of the blanks with water to see what it would look like finished and it's really nice looking. I have a special treat reserved for their finish but I'm keeping it a secret till it's done.
