And Away We Go!

Welcome to the inaugural post of The Runic Otter's new blog. If you found your way here from Facebook, thank you! If you've stumbled upon this page randomly, then I bid you Hello! To all the newcomers I'll give a quick introduction to what this is all about.

I suppose it was about 8 or 9 years ago that, through tragic circumstances, I came to own my first set of runes. They were gifted to me by my cousin, Rick. Needless to say they opened an entirely new realm of faith and I will forever be grateful to Rick. More than that, they opened up a new world of crafting. I love making rune sets and bindrunes and spiritual crafts. I figured I would set up a Facebook page to try and showcase and sell them. That page worked well for many years. I enjoyed sharing projects that I was working on and occasionally selling a set or a crochet project. I even gained a fair share of followers. However, over the last few months, Facebook has become an unpleasant place, in general, to to be. I tried only going on to post stuff on my craft page, but we all know how easy it is to get sucked into the nonsense. So I decided to take the plunge and open a shop on Etsy and stop listing items for sale on Facebook. A few days ago, I decided to turn The Runic Otter page itself into a personal blog where I have a bit more control. So here we are. Over the next few days I'll be moving pictures and deleting pictures from Facebook and trying to share a bit more here. In the very near future, I'm deleting that page. I'm also doing the same for my fitness page. That actually started as blog first then went to Facebook. I should have just kept to blogs, but complicating things is my signature move. It's what I do.

And that brings us current. Please be patient as I meddle with the layout and such and please, please, please, get involved! Comment whenever the urge hits you. Whether it's personal projects or advice or questions - whatever! As long as it's civil, I'm open to all discussion about crafts, runes, and the like.

I would also appreciate it if you checked out my other two blogs, "Free-Thinking Rebellion" and "White Knuckle Strength". Share the pages and encourage others to share them. Again, I welcome involvement on those blogs as well. Lastly, Please visit my Etsy shop. I'm working on 2 new projects as we speak so hopefully they'll be listed in the next week or so. I also have no problem taking custom orders and selling outside of Etsy. If there's a pattern that you like and would like someone to work it up for you, just shoot me an email!

Thanks so much for visiting. I hope this will be a welcoming place to share creativity.
