Flexibility Is A Must!

I spent some time this morning working on a second new rune set. I finished up a nice white stone set yesterday that I posted to my Etsy store. I'll post pics of that one at the end of the blog.

The space that I have now is definitely smaller than I used to have but It's still plenty big enough to get all of my crafting done. Today, I was getting it done with my Dremel Flex Shaft. Frank bought it for me for Christmas, along with the Dremel Drill Press stand. Oh....my....gods! One of the biggest issues with the Dremel has been trying to hold it and carve the stones. The tool isn't huge, but it gets heavy after a time, and the large diameter of it makes it even more uncomfortable to carve with. This Flex Shaft is like holding a marker! It's easier to control and get cleaner lines. I'm looking forward to using it on stones and wood and I'm even going to try and work up some glass crafts.

Something else that I'm doing with these stones rune sets is that I'm adding essential oils to the stones after they're all painted. The white stone set that I just made I used lemongrass oil on them and it smells awesome! I'm thinking that a little bit of aroma therapy while you're rune casting can only be a good thing! Plus the scent ends up getting into the fibers of the rune pouch. I haven't settled on a scent for this grey set but I'm leaning towards rosemary.
