I haven't blogged in a while but that doesn't mean I haven't been crafting! I've gotten a bunch of new things up on my shop including some painted tomte signs, wooden coaster, vinyl decals and patterns for crocheted runes!
This is right after ironing. It had an uneven look about it. I'm thinking that it was probably due to a couple of things - a lumpy towel underneath and not being able to get the sleeve flat. I should have put a towel inside the sleeve.
The medallions were made with the Cricut Maker that I ordered. I'm telling you, that thing is amazing! Today I wanted to try making an iron on for a shirt so I did a little experiment that I wanted to share.
Back when I was working, I came up with a design for the "Bandaid Brigade". I turned that into a decal for the sleeve of one of my gym shirts. It came out pretty good. I'm skeptical as to how it will hold up with washing. They say 50 washings, but it looks like it will only ast a couple. Of course, that could be because I did it wrong. I'm not sure if it got even heat when I was ironing it onto the shirt.
The video that I'll post here is of my mobile workspace. I bought a wheeled cart to keep the cricut machine on, but it also allows me to put the laptop on the top shelf. It's perfect and it keeps me from having to bring the cutter upstairs every time I have a project.
When I'm done, all I have to do is roll it back into the closet.
So here are the pictures of the iron-on.
This is right after I cut the image. The original had some fine lettering at the bottom. I had a feeling it would be too small, and I was correct. I just cut that part off.
I got it as centered as I could. It still ended up a little off, but it's just for me so I wasn't worried about it.

For my first project, I don't think it came out too badly. Doing a design for the front or back of a shirt would definitely be easier than the sleeve. But maybe once I get the kinks worked out, it won't be so bad.
There's so many more things I want to do with this machine. I'm still blown away with the quality of it and what it's capable of. My imagination is loving it!
