Finding time is difficult. I think, out of all the possibly difficult things swirling around us every day, finding time to "do our thing" is the most difficult. There always seems to be time to do the dishes, wash clothes, make dinner, run errands, etc. But finding time to paint, crochet, draw, create and read is next to impossible. Time to do chores is always laying at our feet, but time to do the things that make our souls smile is elusive and rare. That needs to change!
I'm beginning to believe that switching up the priorities in my life is in order. If I died tomorrow, would I die happier knowing that I was fully caught up on laundry and that all of the underwear was folded? Or would I be happier knowing that I had created something really awesome that my daughter could hold in her hands and remember me by? I mean, there's a fine line here to walk. Having a clean and orderly home is important to me and that does actually bring me some happiness. So I'm certainly not saying that I will never was a dish again. I'm saying that I have to learn to step away at a certain point and turn my attention to the fun things. If I've already washed dishes 3 times, done 2 loads of laundry and cleaned the bathroom, maybe I've earned some time to go draw for an hour or two. Especially if that drawing time is going to help buy me some groceries through sales.
It can feel selfish to set aside time to work from home when you're so accustomed to working in an office for someone else. It also feels selfish when that work is something you love and so it seems much less like work! It's 27 years of workforce conditioning that need to be altered, but it's time to do that. It's TIME to find the TIME.
Aside from making a wee bit of progress on my rune sketches, I've also started posting more on Instagram. I've never before used it, so I'm a little confused, but that will pass. I'm also trying to find more content for my Pinterest account. I'm older - these things are foreign to me lol!
Anyhoo....I'm still here, plugging along, making steps towards bringing dreams into reality. It's happening; maybe a little slower than I thought, but it's happening.
If you're fortunate enough to find some spare time, head over to my instagram page and give me some likes and a follow! Oh, and how about my Pinterest page too? It would be much appreciated.
